An attractive Latour-Martillac showing ripe black cherries, dark plums and touches of cigar and fine spices. An underlying mineral twist makes it even more interesting. Juicy and ripe but fresh, with a medium to full body and a matrix of fine, firm tannins beneath the fruit, which shows good fleshiness. Beautifully balanced and long.

The 2022 Latour Martillac is darker and more somber than during the en primeur tasting, revealing aromas of spices, dark berries and licorice. Medium to full-bodied, round and supple, it's juicy with good depth at the core, an assertive tannic frame and a long, ethereal, delicately spicy finish. This is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot and 8% Petit Verdot.

This is a beautifully balanced wine, with its truffle and spice aroma leading to black fruit and licorice flavors. With its great potential, the wine should be ready from 2028.

A youthfully compact style, with its core of red and black currant preserves sitting behind a mix of warm tar, alder and chestnut. Dark tobacco and leather notes stretch out on the finish and add a textural element, while the fruit keeps pace. Solid. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot.
