Reviews

James Suckling 94

A refined streak of minerality generated from the green stone fruit. Subtle green apples and guava with a touch of cream. Excellent intensity and texture on the voluminous palate, delivering refreshing acidity and a mineral finish with a touch of creaminess. Delicious now. Outstanding! Drink or hold.

Vinous Media 92

The 2021 Olivier Blanc has a complex bouquet, much more-so than the red, with orange blossom, orange pith, hints of chamomile and light waxy scents. The palate is very well-balanced with a keen line of acidity, taut and fresh with a brightness on the finish that is very appealing. This is a white Pessac with pedigree, and it should drink well for 15 to 20 years.

Wine Advocate 90-92

The 2021 Olivier Blanc exhibits aromas of green apples, Sauvignon botanicals, white flowers and struck match, followed by a medium-bodied, taut and saline palate. Chiseled and incisive, it shows promise.

Wine Enthusiast 94

From the secluded Bethmann family estate surrounded by woods and dominated by its medieval castle, this wine is richly textured with spice and full tropical-fruit flavors. It is a ripe wine that will be ready from 2026.

Wine Spectator 91

Vibrant, with delicious white peach and white apricot notes, laced with chamomile, honeysuckle and salted butter accents. The fun, juicy finish has excellent energy. Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon.

Tasting notes

This wine is a clear yellow. On the nose, the Sauvignon offers a very broad aromatic palette, offering beautiful notes of citrus zest and white flowers. On the palate, it gives way to appetizing lemony notes and very interesting bursts of fruit in a fresh style. For its part, the Semillon offers beautiful and subtle notes of toast, hazelnut, and brioche. This is a beautiful wine with a smooth finish.
