Tasting notes
The wine has a beautiful garnet color; it is balanced, round and well structured, developing aromas of ripe fruit typical of the appellation.
It shows a good aging capacity and it takes 3-5 years for it to express its full potential.
After vinification, the wine is matured 12-18 months in oak barrels including one third in new oak.

Estate
The estate is located on the right bank of the Gironde estuary, about fifty kilometers on the North of Bordeaux, facing the Medoc; the land composed of valleys and clay and limestone slopes dedicated to cultivation of vines since Roman times.
The property is divided into 2 parts: the majority is near the estuary on hillsides where you can contemplate the Gironde; the rest enjoys a clay and limestone soil but also a clayey gravelly one; the maturation of the grapes is a little bit slower allowing good organization of work, especially the harvest.
This region has a temperate climate through the estuary and the ocean, and a favorable sunlight for the maturation of the grapes.
The vineyard extends over 16.5Ah; the vines have an average age of 30 years and have a high density (5000pieds / Ha).

Food pairing
This wine goes wonderfully with duck, red meat, game and stews.
