Estate

Chateau de Cathalogne is the Despagne family property. It is located in the Entre-Deux-Mers region. This area is situated between the Garonne and the Dordogne rivers, up to the Gironde estuary. Thanks to the proximity of the two rivers, the vines do not suffer from the low and high peaks of temperature. These natural conditions are very favourable for the culture of vines. The terroir of Chateau de Cathalogne consisted of clay and sand with silt. It is ideally suited for the culture of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc for red wine and for Sauvignon for white wine. The Despagne family is very involved in the management of the estate. To produce a quality wine, they signed in 1997 the "CHARTER OF QUALITY AND INTEGRATED FARM MANAGEMENT, SUSTAINABLE VITICULTURE" and certified officially. Since this date, their efforts were rewarded by numerous prizes.
