Decanter Wine Awards 93
Perfumed nose of dried flower, coffee and strawberry; zingy raspberry and high toned floral notes to the palate.

This stunning Moulin-a-Vent is anything but showy, even with the black cherry aromas creeping up on you. However, it has excellent concentration and balance, the deep fruit, fine tannins, mineral acidity and savory character all fitting together beautifully. Long, very elegant finish. Sustainable. Drink or hold.

Description
The Domaine Fond Moiroux's history goes back more than two centuries. It was founded by the Blanc family in Cogny, in the heart of the lovely Pierres Dorées region, in the middle of the 18th century . Its name comes from a fountain (Fond or Font in French) that still supplies a local wash house. Beyond the beauty of the place and the quality of the terroirs, the family proudly carry on the richness of this history, deeply rooted in the Beaujolais area. Current owners Sylvie & Bertrand Neuschwander are both agricultural scientists. The magnificent Domaine Fond Moiroux on the Pierres Dorées hills instantly charms you. The estate embodies has everything Sylvie & Bertrand love: a vineyard with rich and varied parcels, stones steeped in history and an environmental philosophy matches their convictions.
Tasting notes
This vibrant Gamay features hues of garnet and crimson color. This Moulin à Vent impresses with its full-bodied notes of dark berries and spices, combined with its roasted aromas. The oak adds delicate grilled notes to this wine. It is full bodied and rich on the palate with great volume and opulence. Surprising nuances of Havana cigar and a subtle peppery aftertaste arouse curiosity. Already very pleasant to drink, this full bodied Moulin à Vent can be kept for several years. It goes wonderfully with red meats, roasted chicken or salmon.
