Estate

Família Salton - One of the best known brands in Brazil, Família Salton is the oldest winery in Brazil. Boasting a tradition of over a century the winery is recognized as one of the country’s leading producers.

Surrounded by breathtaking gardens and greenery, Família Salton Winery has its root grounded deep in the charming region of Serra Gaúcha. Antonio Domenico Salton began the tradition of vine cultivation in 1878 when he left Italy and moved to Brazil for better opportunities. After vinifying informally for many years, Antonio got help from his sons. In 1910, the Salton Family acquired its formal certification for wine production. Currently, the fourth generation of the Salton Family handles the estate’s operations with great respect for their forefathers.

Creating high-quality wines is the top priority of the winery as the Salton Family takes excellent care of the vineyards. A broad range of vines is grown without chemicals and picked by hand during the harvest. The company produces flagship sparkling wines, together with luscious red, white, rosé, and dessert wines.

Tasting notes

Bright, greenish-yellow in color, with vibrant fine bubbles. The nose is aromatic with tropical fruits, lemon and pear, with white flowers notes. The palate is creamy, sweet and refreshing with nice balanced acidity. Perfect with appetizers, sweet brunch dishes, dessert or alone as an aperitif.

Vinification

Made from 100% Moscato this lush semi-sweet sparkling is made from hand-picked grapes; the juice is extracted with low-pressure pneumatic presses. After the clarification, the must is fermented at low temperature with selected yeasts. The wine is fermented in airtight tanks utilizing the Charmat Method. The must is then refrigerated to stop fermentation, filtered and bottled.
