Background
Famous in Saint-Emilion and Libourne area, Merlot transmits particular aromas to its wines. Besides Saint-Emilion and Saint-Emilion Grand Cru wines, the Union de Producteurs produces – still around Merlot – also wines from neighboring appellations.
Food pairing
Served best with marinated lamb chops, pasta and cheeses.
Tasting notes
This is a delicious, very fruity, easy going Claret with a hint of a spice on the finish. Serve at room temperature.
Terroir
Old sands and clay-limestone soils.
Vinification
Filling-in stainless steel or concrete vats with temperature control. Pre-fermenting maceration from 20 to 30 days maceration. Malolactic fermentation in vats.
