Estate
A blend of wines from various partner winegrowers, Cheval Noir Bordeaux Blanc reflects the skill of our oenologists. A major effort has been undertaken in
Bordeaux to identify those terroirs most propitious to ripening Sauvignon Blanc, the main variety in Cheval Noir Bordeaux Blanc. The other variety, Semillon, adds roundness to the wine.
Food pairing
Cheval Noir Bordeaux Blanc is a fresh, fruity wine to drink young, but it can also age for several years thanks to its main grape variety, Sauvignon
Blanc. Served at 9°C, it is ideal as an aperitif or to accompany fish, seafood, and white meats.
Tasting notes
Nose: concentrated, with aromas of citrus and blackcurrant buds along with hints of tropical fruit and grapefruit. Palate: smooth and elegant from the very first with overtones of citrus and gooseberry Very long with a lovely finish.
Winemaking
The grapes are picked early to retain their fresh fruitiness. The wine is specially made to express Sauvignon Blanc’s rich aromas. Skin contact and cold fermentation maximize the extraction of aromas and aroma precursors. Ageing on the less with regular stirring gives balance, finesse, structure, and length, while concentrating aromas.
