Vintage 2013
We had moderate temperatures and consistently dry, warm days throughout the winter and spring in Alexander Valley. This resulted in ideal grape growing
conditions in 2013 adding to prime flavor development. Three different vineyards were utilized in the production of our 2013 Sauvignon Blanc, several of them being the oldest plantings of the varietal in the Alexander Valley. Many of the vineyards are planted near the Russian River and the soils are made up of small pebbles and clay. This soil composition allows for good drainage and early ripening of fruit. The grapes were harvested August 27th to September 16th at optimum ripeness, and then fermented in 100% stainless steel tanks.
Estate
Roth Estate is committed to making wines with the truest and best expression of the diverse and idyllic growing conditions in Sonoma County. On the nose, the 2013 Roth Sauvignon Blanc displays complex aromas of passion fruit, tangerine, peach blossom, Meyer lemon and green apple. It features flavors of citrus peel and lemon curd on the palate with a nice balance of bright acidity. A refreshing wine, it pairs beautifully with food.
Winery background
Roth Estate is a family-owned winery dedicated to crafting full-flavored wines grown in exemplary Sonoma County vineyards. Beginning in 2001, Roth committed to producing classic Bordeaux varietals in Alexander Valley. A decade later the winery expanded its winemaking to include cool-climate
varietals from the Sonoma Coast.
