Tasting notes
This wine with a garnet color and brick reflections offering fragrances of black coffee, aniseed, and candied black fruits will not fail to satisfy the demand as well as the novices. On the palate, it impresses with its taste of red fruits in brandy, highlighted by its supple and velvety attack. The finish is powerful with pleasant, thick, and rich tannins. Composed of a blend of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon & 5% Cabernet Franc that was aged 60% in tanks, 40% in French oak barrels for 12 months.
Estate
One of the oldest estates in Saint-Emilion, Chateau Corbin was established in 1600 and continues to produce some of the finest wines from the area. It is said that Saint-Emilion cast a spell over Georges and Madeleine, urging them to cultivate the vines that had been growing on the land since the 16th century. In 1940 they turned the wine estate into Château Corbin and have been making history since. Now helmed by Jacques Rambeaud, who's been tenderly caring for the land since 2005. Vignobles Rambeaud has vineyards in some of the most special appellations in Saint Emilion in Montagne Saint-Emilion and Saint George. Their main cellar is located 1 mile from Petrus and Cheval Blanc, and 2 miles away from Figeac. Grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness to produce fine, elegant wines that display both power and delicacy, while maintaining freshness of fruit flavor and aromatic purity. The aim is to achieve excellence whilst maintaining the utmost respect for the terroir.
