James Suckling 91
An attractive, stony edge to the ripe mulberry and cherry aromas here. The palate has a very smooth feel with plush, fleshy texture and fresh, tangy red-berry flavors. Softens at the finish.

Jammy black plum and blackberry aromas include hints of oak, varietal spice and herbal notes. A healthy palate is flush and supported by easygoing tannins. Mixed black fruit flavors come with a touch of Cabernet Franc's noted herbal character, while this feels steady and smooth on the finish.

Technical Details
Estate
Bodega Sur de los Andes was created by Guillermo Banfi, a young Argentine professional who entered the wine industry in 2002. Today, the Banfi Family owns a 25 ha vineyard in Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo planted mainly with Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon. Also, the winery has long-term contracts with their growers and the grapes are as close to state grown as possible, an arrangement very similar to those made by the traditional vineyards in Rioja, Spain.
Tasting notes
This high elevation Cabernet Franc from Mendoza packs on the flavors of wild blackberry jam, cherries and ripe strawberries. Aged in French oak, this rich red is loaded with jammy cassis and blueberry flavors, woven together with layers of floral and cedar notes. Amazing for the price!
