Aguaribay Red Blend 2012
The name of this wine is related to a local tree regarded as a sacred tree by the Incas. The Aguaribay is a typical and emblematic tree of the Mendoza region, perfectly adapted to continental climate conditions of medium altitude of the Andes, it is frequently found at the foothills of this majestic mountain range. Related to the Pepper tree family, this evergreen tree is highly recognizable for his stylish thin jagged leaves, drooping elegantly.
At the foot of the Andes, 120 km south of Mendoza, on the ground where grows the Aguaribay tree, we planted our vineyard, at 11 OOm above sea level, in Vista Flores. The Malbec is king of this unique land of the Cordillera together with the Aguaribays bordering the parcels of vines. This blend delivers the deep dark colour and ripe black fruit from the Malbec, together with the spiciness and smooth character of the Syrah.
